Los Angeles was the breeding ground for Chandra Michelle Anderson, born in the hills of Echo Park in The City of Angels. Art and design has been a part of Chandra's life as early as middle school. Her attraction to art and design studies would continue in far away places like Mexico, Spain, and Costa Rica. Later she would build on her intellectual development and creative ideas while studying architecture at Howard University in the Nation's Capital. An entrepreneur at heart she started her own jewelry making business at the early age of 13. Years later while attending Fashion Week in New York City something happened! Questions were asked, eyebrows were raised, and fashion editors from across the globe became interested in her creations. That's when she knew she had something to share and concentrated her efforts on developing sculptural pieces for the fashion savvy. Chandra's designs illuminate the beauty and power within. Not only are her designs fashionable, they are eco-conscious and responsible, incorporating reused or biodegradable materials like vintage feathers, recycled metals, linens and distressed silks. Her designs encompass today's women. They also symbolize her vision of women: strong, independent, and elegant. |
